Women's Clothes
Plus Size Clothing - formal suit, dress, fashion apparel
|
|
|
|
Featured
in Oprah, Fashion Today, Ebony, Vogue & Essence and on The Oprah
Winfrey Show.
The Style Channel said "The highest quality special occasion
suits available online"
Fashion Today Magazine said "Womensuits.com carries the most
gorgeous church and special occasion suits we have seen" -
- and we found their prices very reasonable. Sizes to 30W
Using the net, Womensuits are ending the media myth that plus size
women aren't attractive and style-conscious. You can now buy the
same plus size fashion suit in Alabama that you can in L.A.

You
may not recognise Amerimark as a ' plus size clothing ' retailer,
but when we visited their site we found lots of womens plus size
business suits & smart skirt and pantsets in sizes 20W to 26W
with a few up to size 34W. Their suits look good value, and, of
course, they have a full range of blouses and accessories for a
complete fashion look.

Avenue
aren't a women's suit retailer as such, but they have an excellent
range of work-casual plus size dresses and fashion jacket blouse
and pant sets. Size 14 to 32.

Always
for me we think offer a good choice for a less formal work setting.
{ really nice '' smart casual '' plus size clothing - but for sharp,
fashion work suits we would favour Amerimark, Elisabeth, and for
special occasion Womensuits }

We
like Lane Bryant's plus size business suit offering. Sizes 14W up
to 28W.
Their site gives you a "what matchs this" suggestion for all their
suiting section, which we liked, as it gives well chosen alternatives
to simply choosing the pants or top that was originally paired with
the other as a suit. Plus size models are used too, a big thumbs
up in our books. All the site lacks is a decent "search for
what's in my size" type function.

Chadwicks
have a good collection of "Career sets" and "Career
dresses" right now.
The "Size Shop" section of their site is for everything size 18
to 26. Size 16 is in "Departments"

Catherines
plus sizes cater for career and workwear very well, with fashion
and styles aimed, in our opinion, at the age 40+ market.
|
|
|
|
Roamans
have suits and co-ordinates to size 34W in most styles, and to size
44W in some.
They have 12 pages of " career wear " plus size business
suits, dresses and co-ordinates.
The biggest drawbacks with their site are the lack of a search by
size function, and thin models.

Macys don't have
the same plus size range as others, but they do have suits to 26W
by the likes of Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger. At least their
models showing off the Plus sizes aren't stick-thin.

Jessica London,
like Roamans, has no search by size function. They do have lovely
looking clothes, size 14W to 34W, but they also insist on using
THIN models, so you end up using your imagination to try to work
out how the clothes will look on the plus sizes they are intended
for.

NEIMAN-MARCUS
have one of the most difficult to navigate sites we have EVER come
across. ( It takes about 10 minutes to find the plus size section,
which they have hidden. Are they telling us something by this ???
) Although they have to size 3X in several styles ( all models are
stick insect thin ) we think that you would have to have more money
than common sense to pay the over the top prices that they are charging

PLEASE READ EACH RETAILERS SIZE
INFORMATION VERY CAREFULLY, - DON'T JUST GO BY WHAT YOU NORMALLY WEAR.
e.g. Size 2XL could be 18W 20W 22W 24W or even 26W
